On Saturday 30th November 2013 the Polish school in Crawley was named after Wojtek the Bear. The new school emblem was unveiled by Mr Ludomir Lasocki whose father had written the first book about Wojtek from Monte Cassino.

Under skilfull organization by the school director Mrs Reanata Jarecka and a group of teachers the children prepared a beautiful artistic program based on Wojtek’s life story.

It would not have been complete without the moving interpretation of the famous song about ” the Red Poppies of Monte Cassino”.

Kids’ art was most charming and full of fantasy..

And the very bears attending were also numerous..

The event ended with delicious home made cookies and coffee.
